Matthew J. Occhuizzo graduated cum laude from Pennsylvania State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor in 2007 from the William and Mary School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia and is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Winchester/Frederick County Bar Association, Virginia Creditors' Bar Association, Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and American Bar Association.

He was previously employed at the law firm of Compton & Duling, L.C. in Woodbridge, Virginia. He handled cases involving debt collection, landlord-tenant, personal injury, criminal, and family law. As a member of the Prince William County Bar Association, he volunteered his time with the Wills for Heroes, So You're 18, and Beat the Odds programs.
